Ask Claude how much a wedding florist costs and you get a careful, sensible, average answer about nobody's wedding. That is the limit of every chat assistant: it knows a great deal about weddings and nothing about yours. Your budget, your guest list and the email your florist sent this morning are somewhere else, and copying them into a chat every time is more work than doing the job yourself. Connecting Claude to the place your plan lives changes that, and it is the difference between an assistant that talks about planning and one that does some of it.
What connecting it changes
Before and after
Your numbers, not an average
It reads your actual budget, what is quoted and what is paid, so “can we afford a second photographer” has a real answer.
It writes back
A quote goes into the budget, forty names go into the guest list, a to-do lands where both of you see it. Nothing to copy across afterwards.
Both of you see the result
What Claude changes is in the shared plan, on your phone and your partner's, not in one person's chat history.
You decide what it may touch
Each area is read, edit or off. Let it read the budget and edit the guest list, or read everything and edit nothing.
Connecting it
Three steps, two minutes

Or search for UNSTAGED under Connectors in Claude's settings.
Press Connect
Claude opens a page from UNSTAGED.
Sign in and choose what it may read and edit
Use the same sign-in as in the app. Approve, and the conversation can see your wedding.
Five things to ask it first
Copy them as they are
“Here is the email from our florist. Add the quote to our budget and say what it covers.”
Paste the email. It finds the total, files it on the right line and tells you what is in it and what is not.
“What do we still have to pay, and when?”
Balances and due dates across every vendor, in one answer, from the budget you already keep.
“Add these forty names to the guest list, family on my side.”
Paste a list from anywhere: a note, a message from a parent, a spreadsheet column.
“Look at our reception moodboard and suggest a table setting in the same tone.”
It reads the images you saved, not a stock idea of a wedding.
“Write a brief for the florist from our Decor ideas and palette.”
One page your florist can quote from, in your words and colours.
Give it the admin. Keep the taste. The evening you get back is for the decisions only the two of you can make.
What to keep for yourselves
Use it for the work that is boring and exact: totals, lists, chasing, filing, the first draft of a running order. Do not hand it the decisions that make the wedding yours. It can tell you what a table setting in your palette might look like; it should not decide whether you like it. And it should never write a word of your vows. The rule is simple: if the answer is a number, a list or a draft, ask Claude. If the answer is a feeling, ask each other.
You need an UNSTAGED membership for the connection, and you can disconnect it at any time under Settings.
The steps for Claude and ChatGPT, the address and what each area allows are on the page for connecting an assistant.
An assistant is only as useful as what it can see. Show it the plan, give it the admin, and keep the parts that are yours.
