The week after, when the only plan is to have none

There is a particular kind of packing that happens after the wedding. The lists are done, the day is behind you, and for the first time in a year there is nothing to organise. What you want now is a small case of things that work together without trying, so that getting dressed is the least of your decisions.

This is that case. A slip that goes from beach to dinner, one good sandal, the bag you will actually carry, and the few finishing pieces that make the rest look considered. Nothing here needs steaming, and nothing here needs a plan.

Buy less than you think you need. The best honeymoon wardrobe is the one you forget you are wearing, worn again and again until it smells like the trip.

Pack the case, then close it. Whatever you left behind, you will not miss.
